Hybridity in new art destabilizes the boundary between the artificial and organic: the boundaries between virtual and physical experience become more porous. 

 Hybridity by contemporary theorists describes cultural identity not simply as a product of tradition, but as a partly open, partly clandestine negotiation of in-betweenness.
